Who is Bedřich

Bedřich is a fictional character who, according to surviving (and often dubious) sources, excelled in the kitchen, behind the tap and on mountain trails. He claimed that a good broth fixes everything that goes wrong in life.

We don't know if he really existed. But we cook as if he were coming for lunch: Czech classics and dishes from the Jizera Mountains. Sauces, meat, dumplings, pickled and smoked things. Honestly and without shortcuts.

poured Pilsner

Pilsner Urquell is our foundation. Not out of obligation, but out of conviction. We pour it the way it should be poured: a chilled glass, clean lines and a head that lasts to the last sip.

  • Hladinka The classic. Dense foam, full flavour. 0.5 l or 0.3 l.
  • Šnyt More foam, less beer. For a taste, or when you don't feel like going home yet.

Made in house

Whatever we can, we make from scratch ourselves.

  • We smoke

    Sausages, pork belly and meat for our soups. Slowly, over wood.

  • We forage

    Herbs, rosehips and spruce tips from the north. Whatever the year brings ends up on the plate.

  • We pickle

    Utopenec sausages, hermelín cheese, cucumbers and fruit. The jars on the shelf aren't decoration.

  • We bake

    Bedřich's sourdough bread and desserts. Every day.
